Spiritual Council - Composed of all ordained elders, this group meets periodically to discuss spiritual matters of the church. It takes primary responsibility for maintaining the church rolls.
Sacristy Committee - This group sees that the elements are prepared for communion and maintains the paraments.
Ushers - help people feel comfortable and welcome as they enter the church building. They assist people in reaching their seats, distribute bulletins and offer the opportunity to share in the offering. Ushers are also responsible for outreach and evangelism.
Property Committee - This group ensures that the church property is well maintained and takes primary responsibility for any building projects and improvements.
Trustees - Trustees are stewards and caretakers of resources, acting in trust on behalf of the congregation. This group manages the endowment fund of the church.
Policy and Personnel Committee - This committee is responsible for securing and recommending personnel, nurturing and supporting church staff, and recommending salary and benefit figures in the budget planning process.
Hospitality/Evangelism Committee - This committee provides sponsors for new members, helps plan fellowship-building activities, works on publicity for church events, educates the congregation in welcoming visitors and new members, and encourages all church members to engage in the task of sharing the good news.
Stewardship Committee - This group helps members recognize and utilize their talents and gifts. Members raise money to support the church's mission; they also educate the congregation about the Christian meaning of stewardship.
Finance/Budget Committee - Financing concerns and budget preparation are the responsibilities of this committee. The group provides guidance for the church's financial health.
Kitchen Committee - This group oversees the use of, and equipment in, the church kitchen. Members provide food and personnel for various church activities.
Call to Care - Members provide a care giving presence and ministry to others in our congregation, colleagues at work, family members and friends in the community. Some visit with older members or those in the hospital. Others provide a ministry of presence with those struggling with long-term illness and rehabilitation.
Helping Hands Committee - In conjunction with the Property Committee, this group works on minor repairs in the church and provides service to people in need in our community.
Strategic Planning Committee - This committee helps to provide direction to the congregation as it looks to future needs and opportunities.
Decorating Committee - Members decorate the church for special occasions and seasons of the year.
Nursery School Board - This group oversees the work of the nursery school.
The Guild - The Guild sponsors events such as the Christmas Bazaar and the annual rummage sale. Members also provide gifts to the residents of Pheobe Ministries in Berks County and Allentown. They host bingo parties at area retirement communities and collect toiletry items for Berks Women in Crisis. This committee also provides financial support for organizations such as Volunteer Home Care and the local food pantry. They host women's prayer breakfasts in the community as well.
Board of Christian Education - This group provides overall leadership for the educational ministry of the children and youth at St. Paul's.
