Daughter Jessica who was born in 1978 and son Patrick Jr., born in 1982. Eventually Sharon and I were farming on our own operating a dairy and poultry farm on the family farm.
It was about this same time that I felt a call on my life to enter into the ministry. Sharon and I were very active in our home church, Friedens United Church of Christ in Mt. Crawford, Virginia. Following six years of discernment Sharon and I decided that it was time to leave the farm and for me to prepare myself for the ordained ministry. I attended Easter Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg Virginia, while completing my undergraduate degree at James Madison University also in Harrisonburg. In August of 1990 my family and I moved to Pennsylvania where I completed my master of divinity degree at Lancaster Theological Seminary. While a student at Lancaster, I served as the student pastor at St. Paul's in Amityville. In 1992 I was elected the pastor at St. Paul's where I served until December 30, 2007.
Our children have grown into wonderful adults with families of their own. Daughter Jessica is married to Mike Ring and along with daughters Alex and Ella live in Forked River, NJ. Jessica is an adminstrator at Clifton Ave. Elementary School and Mike is an ATM technician.
Son Patrick, his wife Bridget, daughter Hannah and son Ian live in Mt Union, PA. Patrick is the Athletic Trainer at Southern Huntingdon County High School and Bridget is secretary.
I enjoy parish ministry very much and I look forward to a long and faithful ministry at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood!
